In 1974, PWA began producing the Conference in a time when the biggest problem facing the industry was getting our products to market. Today, the problems are completely different. There are numerous forms of distribution available; some efficient, some not so efficient.
Probably the biggest problem facing the industry today is lack of strong, decisive leadership, directing us into the next century. Ours is an industry of innovators: people who invented products to improve performance. Today, this is not an easy task, but the technological where-with-all available is much greater than ever before. It is our responsibility to develop new, innovative products and new marketing techniques to keep our industry viable in the retail marketplace of the future. Together, we can surely succeed.
For those of you who have never had the opportunity to attend, our conference is an exclusive opportunity for manufacturers and warehouse distributors of specialty products to meet in a private, businesslike environment to discuss sales and marketing policies and programs.
The Arizona Grand Resort was selected for this year's Conference. The resort is only a few minutes from the Phoenix Airport and shuttle service is available. In addition, the Phoenix Airport is accessible from all major airports in the United States.
Other events held in conjunction with the Conference are the Annual Golf Outing, the PWA Water Park Party and the opening night cocktail party.
