PWA EXPANDS 2011 ANNUAL CONFERENCE!

Non-member Specialty Automotive Distributors Invited to Attend in 2011

Due to economic, legislative and technology issues, the global automotive aftermarket will experience more change in the next 10 years than it has in the last 50. Already, the landscape of the distribution channel has shifted dramatically. In an effort to fulfill our mission statement, and to be inclusive of ALL companies in the business of distribution of performance automotive parts and equipment, the governing body of PWA has concluded that our Annual Conference needs to be made available to more than just its members.

As we all know, the PWA Conference is an exclusive opportunity for manufacturers and warehouse distributors of specialty products to meet in a private, businesslike environment to discuss partnerships, promotions, planning, sales and marketing policies.

This is the time when the governing body gathers feedback from attendees to meet our main objective of developing the best possible understanding of all facets of the industry.

By opening the Conference to all distributors of automotive aftermarket parts, we will be able to not only accomplish that goal more effectively, but provide better business opportunities for all attendees. Continuing In 2011, non-member distributors of automotive aftermarket parts will be invited to attend the conference, scheduled for September 17 through 21.

That’s right! In order to help us with our 2011 PWA Conference expansion, we are offering a rebate to our current members. Read the information below to learn how you might be eligible to receive your rebate.


    RULES FOR NEW REGISTRATIONS

    1. Every NEW distributor a PWA member refers to register for the 2011 PWA Conference, will receive a $50 refund check.* Since many PWA members will be referring the same distributors, the refund will be sent to the first company/person who contacts a prospective distributor, invites them to attend and advises them they will be contacted by a PWA representative. PWA must receive the distributor information via fax or email ONLY. The distributor information must include the company name, address, city, state, zip, contact name, phone and email address. PWA will contact each distributor in an attempt to register them for 2011. * The distributor must register and attend the 2011 PWA Conference in order for you to receive the refund.
    1. Invitations to attend the 2011 PWA Conference may be given to any brick and mortar distributor that stocks and redistributes performance automotive parts and equipment, including those selling via mail order and/or the internet. If the distributor is a SEMA member, also serving as a SEMA council member, attendance will be accepted. If not, the prospective distributor must be sponsored by three (3) current PWA member manufacturers. PWA will handle details of this requirement.
    1. Non-member invited guest distributors and returning guest distributors company fee includes the first delegate (with meal package).  Additional delegates can participate with meals or without meals. See Registration for details and pricing.

      Tell me more about the 2011 Conference

      The Performance Warehouse Association 38th Annual Industry Conference has been scheduled for September 19, 20 and 21, 2011 at the, Arizona Grand Resort. The hotel is only a few minutes from the Phoenix Airport, which is accessible from all major airports in the United States.

      For those of you who have never had the opportunity to attend, the PWA Conference is an exclusive opportunity for manufacturers and distributors of specialty automotive aftermarket products to meet in a private, businesslike environment to discuss sales and marketing policies and programs. 

      The intent of the PWA Conference is to bring together distributors and manufacturers Top Management Executives for private one-on-one meetings. This allows decision makers private time to discuss Policies, Promotions, Programs, Problems and Partnerships. This allows the other "P" word (Products) to be discussed at the SEMA Show. The PWA Conference private sessions are an ideal time to review a manufacturer's policies and procedures, which are not normally addressed by sales representatives who call on the distributor. Principals representing both the manufacturer and warehouse distributor should together determine, or validate, the goals of each company in an effort to ensure that their objectives are compatible; and use a portion of the conference time to work out any differences which may have occurred, or are anticipated, to achieve a continual harmonious relationship between the two entities.

      Remember, Conference sessions (30 minutes each and up to 15 meetings per day) are intended as executive meetings.  It is highly recommended that quality, top level, decision makers attend this program.  This program sets in motion the policies for the coming year.  A determined effort should be made by both the distributors and manufacturers to treat each of their conference partners with equal importance, deliberately and conscientiously striving to make the sessions as productive as possible. Above all, pre-meeting planning should be top priority to assure your meeting is of the highest value. (See the Do’s and Dont's page)

      In addition, to our private meeting format, our very successful "First Time Participant Room" (FTPR) format will be continued.  The FTPR is a large ballroom where up to twenty (20) manufacturers can set-up tabletop displays, have literature available and hold meetings with distributors.  This is not as private an environment as the individual meeting rooms; however, it does give these manufacturers the opportunity to become involved with the Conference.  Hopefully, their efforts will be rewarded by increased request for private meetings in the future. Every Distributor will have a scheduled meeting pre-assigned so they can visit this room.

      This FTPR is ideal for new manufacturers and PWA will do all we can to make it successful. Note:  This room is only available to PWA member manufacturers who have NEVER attended the Conference and it is limited to 20 spots.  Booth location in this room is based on registration order.

      Meeting selection is on a first come, first serve basis, (PWA member W/D’s will receive priority scheduling.) so please fill out the registration application and return it to PWA immediately.  We have already begun receiving many applications; so don't wait any longer to mail your registration form.  Deadline for registration is April 1st. 

      If you are planning to attend the Conference, don't forget to let your sales representative know so they too can sign up.  Remember, they are an important part of your business and they play a very significant part in your meetings.

      SPECIAL NOTE TO DISTRIBUTOR’S:  In an effort to improve the "Fill Rate" for the manufacturer category, it is highly recommended by the PWA Board of Directors that every distributor who attends the Conference should use the two (2) Teams concept.  By having two (2) Teams, you will be able to see more manufacturers.  FYI; you may have as many Teams as you need. If your "B" Team selects only 20 additional manufacturers, this will account for over 900 extra meetings...  What a great way to show the manufacturer’s your support.  Simply give us the names of your "A" and "B" Team members and we will do the rest.

      Again, you may have a “C”, “D”, and “E” Team if needed.

      The First Delegate for the Distributors “B” Team only will be at no charge if your company has a minimum of 65 total meetings.  If you request less than a total of 65 meetings for your “A” and “B” Team combined you will be charged for the first delegate of your “B” team.  See Registration for details.

      In addition, the PWA Board of Directors has approved (for first time participating PWA member W/D’s only), NO COST FOR YOUR FIRST DELEGATE!  That’s right, if you are a PWA member WD and this is your first Conference, your first delegate is FREE!  This is a savings of up to $550.00 and we will include the three (3) day meal package.
